SEXUAL OFFENDER EVALUATION
Understanding, managing and changing perpetrators of sexual abuse is crucial in stopping the cycle of
abuse. A crucial first step in addressing the needs of sexual abusers and the community is a specialized
evaluation of the abuser. A thorough understanding of the offender can assist individuals, courts and
supervising agencies develop effective plans, help families recover from the trauma of sexual abuse, and
assist offenders in making constructive changes toward a safe and productive life. With over 20 years of
combined experience evaluating a wide range of sex offenders and directing a specialized, comprehensive
outpatient treatment program, Linden Oaks Sexual Abuse Treatment Services (LOSATS) provides
evaluations and treatment of offenders in an outpatient setting.
The evaluation process is tailored to the specific referral question and the individual referred. Typically,
it involves several clinical interviews, collateral interview, review of records, and possible psychological
testing. The testing may include a variety of clinical and risk measures when deemed appropriate.
Results of the evaluation will be reported and provided to necessary parties. The evaluation will address
relevant findings, summarize the overall functioning of the offender, assess risk of sexual offending using
accepted risk assessment instruments, and make specific recommendations. The evaluation requires the
offender to discuss the offense and his/her life circumstances to name a few discussion topics.
We work closely with probation and parole officers as well as child welfare agencies regarding behavior
in the community. Written authorization is required to release a summary of our evaluation to appropriate
parties and to review police reports, victim statements and other social and clinical information.
The evaluation process requires at least 6 weeks. Evaluations cost a total fee of $850.00. This includes all
interview sessions, testing and assessment measures, collateral contacts, record reviews, report writing,
etc.
To schedule an evaluation these are the fees due at the start of the process:

  • $100.00 Deposit to schedule first visit (to be applied to account)
  • $300.00 Due at Initial Evaluation Session (must be paid at start of first visit)
The remainder of the fees ($450) will be paid at each subsequent visit until the balance has been paid in
full. The report will not be released until all the fees have been paid in full.
Additional time related to the client (such as court time/travel, etc.) is billed at $250.00 per hour. Please be aware that insurance companies do not generally pay for sex offender evaluations or treatment.
Referral of clients can be made by calling LOSATS at (585)-586-6840. RReferrals by agencies and courts
should be accompanied by police reports and other materials relating to the abuse.
